The day of moving can be pretty hefty and treacherous if you do not plan right and correctly. But with a proper plan and strategy you can actually enjoy and have fun on your removal day and make memories so that you can cherish this moment later in your life. Some of tips for making your removal day a bit light includes:
Get to know the order in which the items will be loaded into the van. You can contact the office to know these details. Once you get to know these order, you can start to pack the items and other belongings in the order in which it will be loaded to the van. The first one to go to the van being at the entrance step and so on.
Some times the packaging and wrapping are done by the company itself. In that case call the office and make sure that they are offering this service. In the case of a packing service, always opt for it because it is safer and easier for us. The professionals can easily handle all the delicate as well as heavy object with ease. In the absence of such a service, the packaging should have to be done by yourself.
Always be careful while you are packing. All the delicate objects such as crockeries, mirrors and glasses should only be put in the box after carefully bubble wrapping it. If an item does not fix in a box, do not force and squeeze it to fit. You can simply choose another box which is a slight bigger. Also do not keep small things in a big boxes, this can lead to cramping of the box by heavier boxes that is loaded into the truck.
Try to keep all your clothes at one place. Prefer suitcases, backpacks or rug sacks to keep the clothes instead of keeping them in black plastic bags. These bags easily tear and destroy the clothes inside it. If you do not have suit cases or rug sacks, try to use top quality bags or containers so that it does not tear easily when they are handled during transportation and unloading.
Always make sure that the parking is available outside the required building when it is time for unloading and unpacking the items. Notify the neighbours and people nearby so that if necessary they can help you to arrange for a temporary parking slot or area. If there is a need for a parking permit to park the vehicle in that region, make sure that you get access to this permit before you pack the items.
In the case of moving beds and furniture, make sure that you dismantle every possible pieces from it and then tape them together tightly so that they do not shake and knock any other items out while transporting them. Store the screws and panels safely in a bag and keep them near their respective furniture so that it will be easy for you to assemble them back at the time of unpacking. Dismantling items before the transportation can help you to save both money and space.
